Vanderbilt Commodores
Odds

Next game odds, CFP outlook, schedule and bowl history.

Vanderbilt is +8000 to win the SEC. Thirteenth of sixteen. Now look at the national market.

+10000 for the national title puts the Commodores level with South Carolina and Arkansas, and shorter than Auburn and Missouri. Both of those teams are less than half Vanderbilt’s price for the conference. Auburn is +4000. Missouri is +3000. The book has them clear of Vanderbilt in Atlanta and behind Vanderbilt in January.

That is not sloppy pricing. That is a twelve-team playoff showing up in the numbers. You no longer have to win this league to win the national title, and Vanderbilt’s route was never going through Atlanta.

Clark Lea is in his sixth season. Career win rate of 41.9 percent, second lowest of any head coach in the conference. Five SEC programs changed coach for 2026. Vanderbilt did not.

1.2 percent. Three teams are longer. The distance from Vanderbilt to South Carolina at +5500 is one place and almost nothing. The distance from Vanderbilt to Texas at +280 is twenty-five points of implied probability, and that is the honest shape of this league.

Vanderbilt is 1.0 percent here and 1.2 percent for the conference. Auburn is 0.8 and 2.4. Missouri is 0.8 and 3.2. Texas, the team the book likes most, is 11.4 and 26.3. Every one of those teams is priced to win the SEC at least twice as often as it wins the country. Twelve of the sixteen SEC teams are priced above two. Vanderbilt sits at 1.2.

Arkansas is stranger still. 0.5 percent to win the SEC and 1.0 percent to win the national title, which is the book pricing them to win everything twice as often as they win their own league.

Our Call

The cheap version of this page writes Vanderbilt as the punchline and moves on. We are not going to.

Lucky Rebel call

+8000 on the conference is the fair price here. The national +10000 is the one we would leave alone.

The two numbers do not agree with each other. Winning the SEC is priced at 1.2 percent and winning the national title at 1.0 percent, which leaves almost no gap between the hardest thing Vanderbilt could do and the harder one. For every other team in this league that gap is wide. The book has quietly decided the Commodores get in as an at-large or not at all, and it has priced the conference accordingly. If you want the ticket, take it on the conference, where the shape of the market makes sense.

What kills it: Clark Lea carries a 41.9 percent career win rate into year six, the quarterback job is still open with Blaze Berlowitz competing for it, and FirstBank Stadium holds 40,350. Every other venue in the SEC holds at least 57,000. Kyle Field holds two and a half times as many. A home schedule in the smallest building in the league is not where national titles start, and that is the part the +10000 is not paying you for.

Players Who Move the Numbers

PlayerPosClassRole in 2026
Blaze Berlowitz #1QBSr.Competing for the job
Sedrick Alexander #28RBSr.Projected starter
Miles Capers #29EDGEGr.Projected starter

Three upperclassmen and no settled quarterback. Alabama, Florida and Tennessee all have their Game 1 starter priced as a market. Vanderbilt’s job is just as open and nobody has put a number on it.

Berlowitz is 6-3 and 200 pounds out of Cushing, Oklahoma. Alexander is 5-9 and 207 and gets the ball. Capers is the one opposing tackles will have circled, 6-4 and 249 off the edge and in his graduate year.
