Week 7 Round-Up
| Dallas Cowboys | 24 |
| Philadelphia Eagles | 27 |
Philadelphia held on at Lincoln Financial Field. The Eagles led by ten at the half, watched Dallas level it with under four minutes left, then drove for the winning field goal as the clock expired. Monday night, 27-24.
Dallas moved the ball and could not finish. Two red zone trips ended in field goals and a third ended on downs inside the fifteen. Philadelphia converted three of four in the same situation. That was the game.
The Eagles take a one-game lead in the NFC East and the season series is level at nothing apiece heading into the Thanksgiving return in Arlington. Dallas gets it back at home on 26 November.
NFC East · Series Record
Dallas has never beaten Philadelphia on Thanksgiving.
They have met twice on the holiday. The Eagles won both, by a combined 60 to 10. The third meeting is at AT&T Stadium on Thursday 26 November 2026.
That is the oddity in a rivalry Dallas otherwise leads. 134 meetings since 1960, and the Cowboys are up 75 to 59. On the holiday they are 0 for 2 and have been outscored six to one.

No tie in 66 seasons. The NFC East has produced plenty of them elsewhere. These two have always found a way to settle it.
Thanksgiving — Two Meetings, Two Beatings
Dallas has hosted on Thanksgiving almost every year since 1966. In all that time the Eagles have been the visitors twice.
| Date | Result | Venue |
|---|---|---|
| 23 November 1989 | Eagles 27, Cowboys 0 | Texas Stadium |
| 27 November 2014 | Eagles 33, Cowboys 10 | AT&T Stadium |
| 26 November 2026 | Scheduled | AT&T Stadium |
Philadelphia is 6-1 all time on Thanksgiving, and two of those wins came in Dallas. The one loss was at Detroit in 2015.
The Bounty Bowl, 1989
The first one is still the most notorious game in the rivalry.
Buddy Ryan brought his Eagles to Texas Stadium and left with a 27-0 win. Jimmy Johnson was in his first season in Dallas, running a team that finished 1-15. Troy Aikman was a rookie. He went 7 of 21 for 54 yards and threw three interceptions.
Afterwards Johnson accused Ryan of placing a bounty on Aikman and on kicker Luis Zendejas, a former Eagle. Zendejas had left the game after a hit from linebacker Jessie Small. Ryan denied it. The name stuck anyway.
Two weeks later the teams met again in Philadelphia. That one got its own name.
The 2014 Rematch
Twenty-five years on, the second Thanksgiving meeting went the same way. Philadelphia won 33-10 at AT&T Stadium. LeSean McCoy ran for 159 yards and a touchdown and the Eagles took a one-game lead in the NFC East.
The teams played again seventeen days later. Dallas won that one and took the division. Worth remembering before anyone reads too much into a holiday result.
Four Playoff Meetings
| Season | Round | Result |
|---|---|---|
| 1980 | NFC Championship | Eagles 20-7 |
| 1992 | NFC Divisional | Cowboys 34-10 |
| 1995 | NFC Divisional | Cowboys 30-11 |
| 2009 | NFC Wild Card | Cowboys 34-14 |
The 1980 NFC Championship is known as the Blue Jersey Game. Philadelphia had home choice and made Dallas wear the blue jerseys the franchise had treated as cursed since Super Bowl V. The Eagles won 20-7 and went to the Super Bowl.
Dallas has won the three since. Two of those came in seasons that ended with a Super Bowl ring.
Rebel Edge
The holiday record is a sample of two. Treat it as a story, not a signal.
Both Eagles wins came against bad Dallas teams. The 1989 Cowboys finished 1-15. The 2014 side lost the holiday game and then beat Philadelphia seventeen days later to take the division. Two results across thirty-seven years tell you about those two afternoons and nothing about this one.
The number that actually travels is the streak history. Dallas once won eleven in a row in this fixture. Philadelphia once won eight. This rivalry runs in long blocks rather than alternating, and that is worth more than a Thanksgiving coincidence.
When They Meet in 2026
Twice, as always. Both teams are in the NFC East, so they play home and away every season.
